Prizes

First prize (worth over ¥300,000): one year of tuition at The American Guitar Academy (48 x 60-minute private lessons), a choice of six TAGA Publishing interactive video online courses, a ticket to both Steve's and Larry's next concert in Tokyo, plus a variety of extra prizes including instructional materials.

Second prize (worth over ¥100,000): four months of tuition at The American Guitar Academy (16 x 60-minute private lessons), a choice of four TAGA Publishing interactive video online courses, plus a variety of extra prizes including instructional materials.

Third prize (worth over ¥60,000): two months of tuition at The American Guitar Academy (8 x 60-minute private lessons), a choice of two TAGA Publishing interactive video online courses, plus a variety of extra prizes including instructional materials.
In the event that winners do not reside in Tokyo, private lessons can be taken online.

Winner announcement: August 16th, 2021. The winner will be announced via theamericanguitaracademy.com and via email.
Video Guidelines
-
The use of backing tracks is permitted (see sample track below).

Length: ≤ 5 minutes
-
The competitor should be visible at all times.

The video must be recorded in one take.

The use of effects at the time of recording (e.g. distortion on a rock song) is permitted. Edits and post-production are not allowed.

Competitors may not make their video publicly available before July 15th, 2021.
Submitting Your Video

The title of the video should be TAGA Scholarship Contest 2021, Participant’s Name, (e.g. TAGA Scholarship Contest 2021, Taro Yamada).

Entries will be accepted by post, an email to info@theamericanguitaracademy.com, common video sharing platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo, or file sharing platforms such as WeTransfer, Google Drive, or DropBox.

The video description should contain the composer and name of the piece played.

Videos uploaded to video sharing platforms must be uploaded as “Unlisted” and the video comments should be deactivated.
