Dale began his musical journey at his grandmother’s piano, learning the music of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Ritchie Valens (to name but a few). At the age of fourteen, he was fortunate enough to go on a trip to New York to see The Phantom of the Opera and Nunsense on Broadway. It was then he realized that singing would absolutely have to become a serious pursuit for him.
At sixteen, he won the Fiesta-val National Competition’s “Best Soloist” award, and by seventeen, he had been accepted into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts opera program.
Since then, he has performed as a principal in several productions, most recently in Tokyo International Players’ production of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, as well as in the UNC School of the Arts production of Mozart’s La Finta Semplice, and as a soloist in Gardner-Webb University’s production of Mozart’s Requiem. He has also performed as a chorister in a litany of professional productions throughout the southeastern United States.
Alongside teaching at the American Guitar Academy, Dale works as a freelance pianist/keyboardist and sings with the band The New Rain Makers.
